Recognized by appropriate authorities If you plan to start a school for LPN training, it should be accredited to a national organization pertaining to LPN. These include the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education etc. The US government officially recognizes only these bodies. If your school is not a member of such organizations, you run the risk of providing unrecognized certifications in LPN. This can jeopardize your reputation and credibility.

Approval and regulations You will also need to have the necessary licenses and approvals from the respective government authorities before you establish a school for LPN training. Internship and placement facilities Ideally, starting an LPN school should also include a placement and internship facility. This is because most LPN students expect schools to provide placement opportunities. If you want your school to be competitive amongst all the other LPN schools, then make sure it has appropriate partnerships with other hospitals and medical centers. In this manner, once students finish their degree, the ones with the best grades will be automatically placed in good nursing homes or medical centers. Extension of degree Your school should have the provision for students to extend their LPN degrees. If students wish to add on to their existing LPN degree and become an RN or even APN, your school should have facilities for it. That means, your curriculum must be inclusive of subjects covered as per RN and APN syllabi. Appropriate placement opportunities and internship programs should also be provided for RN and APN courses.
